Rates | Specifications
The Waterbury Observer is an independent monthly local news magazine with a circulation of 20,000. It is a free publication distributed at over 350 locations throughout Waterbury, Watertown, Wolcott, Naugatuck, Prospect, Middlebury, Morris, Thomaston & Litchfield.
Advertising Rates
Our open rate is $14 per column inch. Larger ads have a lower price per column inch (see diagram). With frequency discounts and prepayment discounts you can save as much as 30%.
Ads may be purchased by the column inch (see Ad Specifications for column width measurements). For example: a 1 column by 3" ad = $42; a 2 column by 2" ad = $56; a 3 column by 4" ad = $168.
Discounts
Frequency Discounts:
- 3% for three months
- 6% for six months
- 9% for nine months
- 12% for a full year
Prepayment Discounts: There is an additional 5% discount if you prepay monthly, or an additional 10% if you prepay quarterly or an additional 18% if you prepay annually.
Nonprofit Discount: There is a 15% discount for nonprofit organizations.
