Connecticut Seen / Connecticut Scene Bus Tour. Ann Smith, Curator of the exhibit will lead a bus tour in search of the scenes that inspired painters such as Frederic Church, Calvin Curtis and George Durrie. Our first stop will look at Eli Whitney’s shop and village as George Durrie did in the mid-1800s. Next we visit West Rock, the site of many paintings depicting the shoreline and farms. Our tour will conclude with a visit to Derby, where we will compare the idyllic scenery depicted by Calvin Curtis to the river views today, $10 museum members, $12 non-members, RSVP.
